Your body matters.
It was God who made it. Jesus died for it.
The Holy Spirit dwells in it.
You are not what you weigh! I read a study that found 63 percent of female participants identified weight as the key factor in determining how they felt about themselves. They regard size, much like weight, as a definitive element of their identity.
In believing this lie we are conforming to the standard of the world. Letting go of lies can be frightening until truth is revealed.
We are flooded with information about weight problems and body image and the harm obesity can cause. So why does this problem continue to increase?
Information shows us the need for change, but transformation gives us the desire to change. The power to change comes from the One who created us in HIS image.
There is only one way to stop a lie, seeing the truth!
We must move beyond the mere opinions of mankind and pursue truth. Truth that will bring healing and restoration and is able to carry within itself the seed of life.
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT).
God is making it very clear; He doesn’t think like us. It is only His truth and wisdom that bring hope and lasting liberty! Man may know truth, but God is truth.
“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32).
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6).
Transforming truth requires an admission of our own inability to bring change, it is a call to lay aside our pride and surrender in humility and dependence on God. He wants our empty lives in exchange for our surrender.
We must plant the seed of His Word into our heart, guard it and water it with praise and worship. Everything that God does in our lives begins in seed form.
Join the walk to honor God in your body, His Masterpiece. Use small steps, this is a life journey. Allow time for the seed to grow and reap the harvest of a healthy, happy life.
This is a new day, a new season for you. A time to plant new seed and reap a fresh harvest. I know you are ready for change. Everyone must plant their own garden!
